Upper Canada Village

My boys love pioneer villages, they enjoy  hands on learning and exploring. Upper Canada Village had many shops and exhibits. We saw the bakery where they baked bread in metal pans and brick ovens. The smell was incredible! I ended up taking a loaf…

The Start of the Adventure

This was the start of the adventure for us. This is a picture of my then much younger boys outside the trailer before heading off on our first camping trip. They were so excited (and so were we!) to get in the truck and drive…

Ottawa Museum of Nature

Welcome to the crazy world of boys! But oh how I love them. This is what I get when I ask them to pose for a picture. Goofy faces, bunny ears …or these days hands in front of their faces to keep me from…

Puppy Love

Hello Blue Eyes Is this not the cutest face?! This is my family’s extremely spoiled and well loved Vizsla named Copper. This photo was taken our first summer with him while he was still a puppy. Travelling with a puppy is a little like…

Flowerpot Island

A Favourite spot My boys still rank our trip to Tobermory and Flowerpot Island in 2012 as one of their favourite spots.  Look closely at the bottom of the photo. My oldest son is standing next one of  the Flowerpots the island is named for. The weather…

Disneyworld – Fort Wilderness

Our view from the ferry dock at Fort Wilderness in Disneyworld. It was a long drive to Florida but we made it! Camping at Disneyworld instead of staying at a resort cut our trip expenses in half.  It was a once in a lifetime…

Hiking at Flowerpot Island

Hiking at Flowerpot Island  in 2012. It was a beautiful day to spend with the boys and it had some great hiking trails that were easy enough for my then four year old son to walk on without difficulty.

End of Summer Adventure

It may look Caribbean blue but it was icy cold! An afternoon at Cypress Grotto near Tobermory, Ontario. Our boys still talk about how much they enjoyed this trip.
